CONSUMER REPORT ON LAPTOP

I have had the opportunity to work with Dell laptop….never again! Within three months, the keys were skipping; sentences would jump into a different paragraph while typing. Within six months…the hard drive was crashing, but at first, it was thought to be a virus…so I paid to have it cleaned, and all reinstalled. It then had a major crash/freeze in Feb/March. It is still under warranty, until 6/2011. The hard drive had crashed, had t be replaced. Dell sent a new hard drive, but I had to pay for the labor. Now I have a Dell laptop with letters that stick and jump into other paragraphs while I am typing. I have about two hundred dollars in repairs….and still have an undependable dell laptop that that is still under warranty. I will never recommend DELL! I did contact dell, filled out surveys, and tried to get some satisfaction…..nothing really helped. I feel that my dell laptop is only good for a backup computer, and even then, I have to be careful while using it.

The Dell XPS doesn’t offer a Blu-ray drive — even as an upgrade — which is a common feature on laptops. Another disadvantage the cooling fans are loud. If you need a laptop specifically for 3D gaming, the Alienware M17x is a better bet even though M15 and M17 lines are prone to crashing after about an hour or so. I now have an apple laptop that I am very happy with! The apple laptop comes in several configurations at apple.com, but the base model ships with a second-generation Intel Core i5-2410M processor, 6 GB of RAM, 500 GB hard drive and NVidia GeForce GT 525M graphics with Optimum switching technology. Other features include built-in Bluetooth 3.0, a CD/DVD burner and an 8-cell battery. Awesome tiny AC adaptor.

Viruses have now been completely eliminated as a cause for concern for me. I haven’t had a virus in since I bought the laptop. Free Avast runs a scan blazingly fast in the background because of the SSD.Minimal hiccup with Microsoft Signature. Supposed to be no bloat ware. There was a little of it – from Microsoft! Took about 3 min to uninstall Bing bar, Zune, and Windows Live Essentials. Also Sony VAIO VPCEH25FM/B not a bad laptop is a 15.5-inch laptop with an LCD resolution of 1366 x 768. It has 4GB of memory and a 640 GB hard drive. It has an Intel core i3-2330M 2.2 GHz processor and Intel HD 3000 video adapter but no dedicated video memory, so it’s not well suited for high performance vides gaming. It comes with window 7 Home Premium pre-installed.
Sony VAIO VPCEH25FM/B has a built-in memory card reader for digital photography, a multitouch touchpad, and 4 USB ports. IT HAS HDMI out for connecting to an HDTV. It supports Wi-Fi 802.11n, so it’s compatible with the latest high-speed routers. The VAIO VPCEH25FM/B measure 14.5 inches wide by 1.5 inches by 9.8 inches deep and it weighs 5.2lbs. It’s backed by a 12 month warranty, with a 12 month of tech support
